SumoPayroll provides predefined standard roles and also allows you to create custom roles to manage access control within the application.


1. Viewing & Managing Roles

    Navigate to Administration > Roles to view existing roles.

2. Standard Roles (Predefined and Non-editable)

    These roles come built-in and cannot be modified directly, but you can make a copy and customize them:

  • Super Admin

  • Employee

  • HR Manager

  • Payroll Manager

  • Accountant

3. Custom Roles

    You can create custom roles in two ways:

  • Copy an existing role and edit its permissions.

  • Create a new role from scratch and define specific access privileges based on your organizational needs.


    This allows you to control who can access and perform actions across various modules in Sumopayroll.
